My biggest concern is member ratio to boats. How many boats are there?? How many members. There seem to be not enough boats for the memberships they have sold! Our program was suppose to be ...14 yrs and 26 owners to 1 boat, then they came out with 10yr program don't know how many members per boat that one was suppose to have. I think they also have a 5 yr program?? As far as I can tell... They only have boats at Lees Ford @ lake Cumberland no more Dale Hollow or Norris. They do have lake Powell 1 boat maybe 2 ? At Lees Ford they have 10 boats altogether. 5 are "suppose" to be for renters and 5 for owners. When we were there I asked a gentleman if he was a IYC member and he said no he was renting the boat, it was boat #9 one of the newer ones than we had for our trip!! I feel since it is so hard to get the reservation we want when we call 1 yr ahead that renters could be utilizing our boats. How would any of us know, and what a great way to generate some quick revenue. We want a list of owners that we were promised when we signed on, and a list of which boats are for owners. They haven't kept us up to date on a lot of things. I didn't know that we no longer had boats at Dale Hollow! Wonder how much use the boat gets at Lake Powell. Probably alot of "renters" Well those are a few of my concerns. I would welcome feedback, or any insight at all. Thanks

Buckeye
I hope this board is able to answer a lot of our questions! I have talked to many other members at Dale (when the boats WERE there) and at Cumberland. Not a single person was happy with the way we are being treated by IYC.
As far as the ratio goes it has to be over because I could not get a boat till Sept.9th. I have been a member since 2000. I will call this week to schedule for next years points and the remaining points from this year that I could NOT get scheduled. If I can not get time, Guzman will not get a maintenance fee check. Another gentleman at the lake this past weekend said the same thing. (do I sound bitter??)
As far as Powell goes that is a different deal. Instead of a timeshare it is a "shared" ownership of sorts. Once the shares are sold we IYC members cannot use it. I believe (if Bert told me right) that only one share remained as of July. I did use that boat last year as it was available at that time for "our" use. We had an absolute ball out there. It was a nice Horizon with a freezer on the deck and a gas pump for refueling the "toys". Very expensive trip but Antelope Point treated us like royalty.
I hope that a lot more people find their way to this site. Maybe we can band together and get something done with the state of disrepair being handed to us.

Robin: I agree: We have been satisfied somewhat only because, We had rented for 20 yrs. We always rented the boat for a week every year. So now 5th year into this and it and the cost is what we would have spent for rentals. But there is some shady management going on I fear. Like possibly IYC boats being used for rentals!! There are only 10 boats 5 for rentals and 5 for IYC. Now, how do we know that this isn't the reason for no available time for IYC members. Plus they have sold too many memberships for the amount of boats. If we ban together we can demand to know and get all member names. We were promised names and address of all members when we signed on. I think members aren't going to stand for not getting their time on these boats.

I have a friend who is very interested in possible joining IYC. He has tried numerous times to contact them but gets no response back! He was finally able to talk to someone named Tom, and was told he (Tom) would email him back. That was a few weeks back and still no response.
I guess I will personally call Guzman and see what is up with this. I am also going to ask him about getting a meeting together with all members to discuss the state of IYC.

Robin; I would be interested to know before your friend signs on if he demands to see proof of members to boats ratio, what they would show him. What about a actual deed or registration to a boat that he would supposedly own a share in. At least your friend would have a heads up about the concerns that have plagued this program.
