This question is for those who have already been on the houseboats this year. I know that the written times are board at 4pm and return and be off no later than 10am. Are they as strict with these times as they have been in the past or has experience told you there is some flexibility?

Jim, we boarded boat by 3:00 [maybe even a little earlier]. cause it was ready. We checked out by 9:00 so can't tell you anything about check out We were there 7/10 thru 7/17. I guess this will be last time on #6. It had a few problems with steering and rerverse gear once during the week and then the evening we brought it in . Being part of IYC is cliffhanging. cause I don't know how they can continue with all the unhappy members. and the erratic management. The lake was great[had to move a tree once] and we lucked oyu with the weather. Had an hour or so of soft rain . The rest of the time we watched the sky for all the storms around us. When do you go?

Hi Sunny,
We have been doing a lot of camping at the lake this year. It has been wonderful. We are going down to the Houseboat 7/30 to 8/6. Have any coves you recommend. We are going to be on Houseboat #1.

Hi Jim: I don't know how far away from LFM you like to go, this one is about 25 minutes in houseboat. We went up under the bridge and followed that around, once you are around the sharp left bend, (where the lake widens) head straight... then you will come to a ramp on the right and a campground on the left. continue on straight. There is a small opening to a nice little cove. We pulled in with our bow to the west shoreline. Nice sun on the rear deck but good shade all day on the front deck. Hope this helps. If you don't like that, go the other way towards main lake, and once you get passed LFM and out of the no wake, follow the sharp right around then hang to the left bank about 1/2 mile or so down there will be a decent size cove to pull in. Good luck and have a safe enjoyable time.
