:oDoes anyone look at the forum lakecumberland.com?? They are talking about Grider Hill being for sale and John Guzman name was mentioned as possible buyer!! Do you suppose?? Would that mean IYC would be located at Grider??
WOW... anyone know anything about this ... chime in..

Now this should be interesting. If this is true, I hope he let's the people already in place run the show. He is definitely nothing like Tony. I don't know what kind of deal he has with Lee's Ford but I would think that unless he sells the Management rights to the rental fleet, the IYC boats would stay there. The reason I believe they were moved there in the first place was to have all boats in the same place for ease of Maintenance. Grider Hill already has a large rental fleet so it wouldn't make sense to move the rental boats. We'll just have to watch and see how this plays out.

Yes Jim it will be very interesting to wait and see what happens. We have been to Grider many times (renting houseboats) and we always were very pleased with the friendly staff Tony, Ned and Wendel to name a few. That is a beautiful area of Lake Cumberland and we have a lot of favorite coves down there. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was John!! The LC.com site is kinda quiet on weekends so not much info. We will see!!

Hi, I,ve been reading the lake cumberland forum and I guess Tony has told his employees so sounds like this rumor is true Whether John bought it is not official yet. I check it daily so will let you know if I learn anything. Jim, I' like to change my password--I can't remember the one assigned to me . When I tried it was rejected since my name is already a member. How do I do this? Thanks

I zipped off an email to Berta asking about the rumor. She basically confirmed it without saying so. I don't know if John is in this alone or if there is a group that he is part. It sounded from the email that it would be finalized this week. She stated she will not know everything for awhile but we would get some correspondence. She also said that the Houseboats would be moved and maintained by employees. Apparently they had some trouble with contractors billing for maintenance that was never done. That's all I have for now. Happy Holidays!
Sunny - I looked through all the admin options and could not find any that allowed me to reset passwords.

Where the he!! has everyone been? Guzman DID buy the Grider Hill Marina under some LLC that's only been up and running since August. They MOVED the freekin boats AGAIN which affects my storage situation each time it happens. And I am wondering, are they TRYING to make people quit the program? Is that the ultimate goal? I don't even know where Grider Hill is, but I know it's gonna tack on HOURS to my drive from Cincinnati. With as many people as I know getting out, there had better be some serious bonus time available this spring and summer! Does anyone out there have any idea where this thing is headed?

Does anyone believe in Karma? With the Wolf River Dam problem he is probably screwed for the next few years. I have yet to receive an invoice for maintenance fees, has anyone else?

Vedder, Grider Hill is about 4 hours from Cincy. When I head there I usually take 90 to Albany and turn right on 127.
I am assuming by now that everyone received their email about Maint. Fees. I have a feeling that more people will drop out again this year. I am kind of curious though how many people paid their Maint. fees up front?
I think Grider may be good for the houseboats. We should get reliable service and Maintenance from the staff there and I would think we should get a break in slip fees since John is majority owner. (of course we don't see that in this years maint. fee)
I am taking a wait and see stance on this one.

We have rented from Grider many times and we did get wonderful service there. (of course the HB rental is a cash cow) We love that part of the lake, so many coves and places to hide!! It is further drive maybe 1 hr or so, but I think you will enjoy that part of the lake more. I am curious to find out what the lake will look like at such a low level, and will it affect how we tie up the HB.... maybe we will have to use anchor!!

Unfortunately, each time John moves the @#*! boats, we move our storage unit for OUR boat. We kept it right next to Conley, and now keep it right around Lee's Ford. So, for us, we have to drive to lee's ford, pick up our boat and then move on to Grider Hill. We may as well drive to South Carolina. Our mechanic is located directly between Lee's Ford and Conley. In the 3 or 4 years we've been in this thing, the maintenence fees have gone from $500 to $1300 and the boats have moved to 3 seperate marinas. (Not to mention they removed several from the fleet, got rid of the hot tubs and are letting that Gina person live on one.) I guess morbid curiosity will keep us in it another year.

Hello out there to all the Inland Yacht Club members. I was searching for info on the demise of John's club and marina and found this forum. If anyone still checks in, then we could still use an update. We saw the handwriting on the wall in 2007 and did not pay anymore maintenance fees in 2008 when they could not provide us with a boat for our ONE lousy PRIME TIME week. I even requested ANY week.
Has anyone contacted the Attorney General of Kentucky? Maybe a class action suit? How much could be left? I know the boats were all put up for sale but I can't imagine them selling in this economic climate.
Any update info would be appreciated.
Wishing you all HAPPY TIMES,
Barefoot

I've been out for awhile but was interested in the final demise. I thought this fall was supposed to be the end.
