Looking at the latest from IYC management. What does this mean? Has anyone called talked to Berta and found out the specifics? Are we going to be compensated for unused plan years? If not, then I think no! What are the ?new? boats? Are they his leftover rentals from Lee's Ford, 11,8 or 7? Like those boats are in any better shape! Give me some feedback!

I did send an email to Berta, however my questions had to do with the new boats and time extension. My time is up in 2008 and I was checking into extending until 2011 if this plan is voted into action. She thinks that these would be part of the old rental fleet from Lee's Ford. I have to believe that they are better than 1 and 3. I had 1 last summer and it was a pain in the butt not to mention it broke down. 3 was in the dock broke down during the time I had 1. I understand where you are coming from though as far as being compensated for early termination. I thought there was something in the agreement about that but I won't swear to it. I don't know how many years you have remaining but maybe that would be a way to extend mine and compensate yours.
I also ask about the Hot Tubs again and got the standard answer I get every time. We'll look into it and let you know.

I'm new to this web site but happy to finally have found it. I have some other interested members (mostly unhappy members) here in Cincy.
I haven't been able to get a week for the past several years. Finally this year because I called at the exact correct minute I was promised July 4th week. I again asked that it not be on boat #1 which is the only one I"ve ever had. I've been a member since 2001.
We can't believe the $1,200 main. fee this year. I was prepaid for five years but next year will have to pay it. It will probably be double that. I think the LLC is going to be dissolved and we are all going to be SOL.
Does anyone understand what is going on?

Welcome Fitwen. We've been trying to get as many people as possible to this site. It is not easy because it is mainly word of mouth. I don't think anyone but John really knows what is going on. They haven't been trying to sell the program since the new program with the larger boat failed. I think it is obvious from the last email that the program will probably dissolve in 2011. John is the majority owner in Grider Hill and I would think that he doesn't have time for this program. I looked at the agreement but I'm not a lawyer so I can't make heads or tales of it. I prepaid my maint. fees for 5 years also but that is all we were in the program. If someone who is in the program past 2011 calls Berta, please let us know what is going on.

Found an interesting thing today while surfing the net. It appears that Houseboats 1, 3, 6, & 10 are For Sale on a Houseboatsplus.com. I guess they are going to replace 1 & 3.

I haven't heard anything about a proposed ballott. What are you guys talkin about? Isn't the communication from IYC great? I am in the program for I think 6 or 7 more years. (We bought in from someone else 3 or 4 years ago.) We paid less than the people who bought directly in from Guzman. Are they thinking of dissolving the program or something? I called yesterday (Friday) but the man who answered said IYC isn't in on Fridays. Do you really think they are going to sell some of our timeshare boats and REPLACE them? That seems a bit optomistic doesn't it? Does anyone know if Gina is still living on one of our boats? I keep reading on the LC.com forum how unhappy the Grider Hillians are with their new ownership and I just want to warn them all about Guzman's methods of management.

Berta sent out an email wanting members to vote on whether or not they wanted to exchange boats 1 and 3 with two other boats, presumably from the old Lees Ford rentals. The catch is if he does this he wants to dissolve the program at the end of the 2011 season. It also stated that if you didn't have reservations for this season to call. They may be able to accomodate you at Grider Hill. I am out of town, but if I can get my laptop connected, I'll send the email

Here is the text of the email.
NOTICE BALLOT NOTICE BALLOT NOTICE BALLOT
To: All Multi-Owners From: Berta RE: New Docks, Ballot
As most of you are aware, your Manager, John Guzman, has purchased Grider Hill Dock on Lake Cumberland. Your houseboats have been moved to that location, and a new dock is being built for you.. I understand that this is the best dock on the marina and will be numbered g1400h.
There are many of you that have expressed an ongoing unhappiness with Boat #1, and many have requested specific boats, which I frequently cannot accommodate. John has proposed that he gtrade outh boats number 1 and 3, and replace those boats with two 16X65 boats, which would result in having nearly equal boats in your fleet. He is willing to do this at NO COST to you, but wants to set a limit, or date, upon which you discontinue the multi-owner program. He proposes that the termination date be five years from this season, or at the completion of the 2011 season.
I need to take a vote of all the various owners regarding the above, so that steps can be taken promptly to switch out these boats. If the result is Pro, I would simply number the new boats with the old numbers, i.e., one would still have number 1, which would now be the traded 16X65.
In addition, I wanted to let you know that it appears, with the new changes, there should be no increase in the annual maintenance fee. For those of you that have NO reservation for this year, please contact me, as I may have a solution for you at Grider Hill.
BALLOT
YES, trade out boats #1 and #3, and discontinue the program at the completion of 2011.
NO, do not trade out boats #1 and #3, and leave the program as it exists.

I am a slip renter at Grider Hill. I noticed every IYC boat that is sitting with GHD rentals has a for sale sign on them now. I walked through one of the boats Saturday and the condition of these boats compared to the GHD fleet was very poor. The carpet was very dirty and torn in around hatch covers. Full size microwaves had been pulled out sitting on the dock and replaced with a $69 small unit that just now sits on the shelf where the built in use to be at.
Are these boats old rentals or part of your time share boats? I can not believe anyone would want to continue to pay to rent one of these boats that are so dirty on the inside! You could go to any other Marine and rent a nice new boat that has been kept up. As someone posted many of us are very unhappy with the new owners. We are in for a long fight but we plan to stick around and out last the new owners.......
Can someone please tell me where your new dock is going to be located at? Right now with low water they continue to relocate docks around and I have not heard of this new dock being build and added to the existing docks.
Thanks and good luck with your own fight with Guzzball
