I would think that an inspection before and after usage would be beneficial to all members. This would put responsibility for any damage where it belongs. And I think members would be willing to pay for any of their own mishaps. To keep costs down maybe the cleaning crew could do this with a little extra time. This would be minimal. I am hopeing the winter months are used for a good thourough interior cleaning and some repairs. I.E. Clean out drawers and cabinets, repair all screens, replace broken parts on refrigerator and stove. (Why not use teflon reflector pans on stove that can be wiped out<) Any one who has had rental or lease property knows that there is so much cost to upkeep and replacements. Hey, maybe they really are renting these boats to outsiders! It's hard to believe that someone with a monetary interest would damage or leave the boat in a sorry condition. and we really have to get some more members.I've given 2 names to Jim which is all I know.. A dock worker at Lees Ford told us there were10 boats from IYC. 5 rental and 5 owners. If there are only 5 boats for us where are the rest of them? ? Anybody have any answers?

Hi Sunny and everyone else. Thanks for the welcome. How long have you been an IYC member? Over the last 3 winters NOTHING has been done. We have taken a trip late October then early May and the boats are just as dirty in May as in Oct. But by June they had them cleaned up. There has been so many people we have met sappose to be taking care of the boats then they disappear. I wonder why? Management problems or that it seems to be a temporary part time seasonal job. When we first joined there was a maitenance kid living on boat 10 at Conley. Thats when we had lots of boats in our members club. All the now rentals and our boats. Does anyone know what boat they have actual ownership in? Written Doc's?

At one time I offered to power wash the decks several times a year. They apparently had someone do this one other time and ended up doing the sides also and took the caulking out from around the windows. I explained that all I wanted to do was the decks but they didn't want to take me up on my offer. I don't know what they were paying the maintenance company this year but I don't think they were getting their money's worth.

Dreamin: The Kid on boat 10 is the son of Jerry Dye, Jerry was the guy that sold us our membership. Funny you should ask about the actual boat you own because we have been trying to figure that out also. No we do Not have written documents for "our boat" they said it was being built when we signed on! These are the things we would like to take care of, because when it comes time for selling the boat at the end of our 14 years we really do need to know what boat we own. The boats are not all alike. Good question Dreamin, hope we can get to the bottom of this! I sure bet memberships are still being sold and no more boats are being added to the fleet of 5 boats for members. Billie
