We just returned from our vacation on Houseboat #3. We got the boat on Sunday afternoon. Let me start out by saying that this was the first time we have ever been to Lee's Ford Marina by land. Launching our boats and unloading our cars was an adventure. The launching and unloading area was quite busy. The wheeled carts were small and the houseboat was a good distance away. Once we were loaded we were ready to go. The check in people were very nice. We got out of the slip and proceeded through the very long no wake zone and out into Fishing Creek. We found a very good cove real close to the marina so we didn't have to go far. We tied up in the cove at 4 corners of the houseboat with the nose facing out. (this was the first time we have tied up this way and it made a big difference with the rocking. The week was pretty good with a few glitches. The coffee maker didn't work so I called YMI and they told me to go into town and buy a new one. I didn't have a problem with that but the courtesy shuttle apparently doesn't run during the week and that hill is a bear to walk up in 94 degree heat. My car was at the top in the trailer parking lot. The rest of the week went pretty good and we decided that we would take the houseboat back to the slip late Saturday afternoon. This was possibly a bad decision. As we approached the gas dock, we were told to wait in the idle zone until they could free up space. We had a little bit of a wind and it was taking everything I could do to keep the Houseboat off the rocks. 30 minutes later I was waved in to the gas pier. For anyone who is wondering, we used about 130 gallons of fuel in 6 days with the generator and Air running 95% of the time. Keep in mind that most of this was for the generator because we were not far from the Marina. We got the houseboat back into the slip thanks to the helping hands of some of the neighbors. ( the wind was pushing me around pretty good). Things I found wrong with Houseboat #3 are as follows: the rear toilet leaked at the base, there were no lounge chairs on the roof, the lounger in the living room is broke, one of the chairs on the roof had a broken weld, the cooler on the front deck had a broken lid. Our overall opinion of the move from Conley to Lees Ford is that it was a bad move for the owners and a good move for YMI. I personally think this move was made because YMI owns the rental boats at Lees Ford and they wanted all the boats in the same place. This is just my opinion and I welcome others.
