Welcome members of Inland Yacht Club. I have started this message board to allow owners in the Inland Yacht Club to communicate with each other and to share their thoughts and experiences.

Hello, I have been a member of IYC for about 3 years now. It didn't take long to figure out we think there is some shady business out there. I have news. This past spring while staying on our boats we stayed in dock for the weekend (when we were on dock C) We became friends with some of the private owners. Well a few weeks ago we were at the lake and saw some friends and found out the Arick Jago (our friend) is taking over the maintenance of the boats next year. He is a really nice guy and lives at the dock full time. He is under the impression they are buying 5 more boats next year. I hope John is not giving him a song and dance too. I think this is good that someone who will actually be there all the time will be taking care of the boats. I also think HMM! Paula is retiring.

Hi New member, so glad to welcome you. We're a small group trying to find more members so if you know any IYC people - pass the word. You are so right about having someone there and probably hands on with the knowledge of what needs to be done.. I hope he's right about the purchase of boats. Again "Welcome"

I can't imagine that John is going to purchase 5 new boats. Maybe that was his thought when they started the new program with the larger boats, but I don't think that program went over like they thought it would. I know at one time they thought those switching to the new program would take some of the burden off the original program. I think most of us know that didn't happen. As far as having someone at the dock, this is probably a good idea but I would be concerned about him getting overwhelmed taking care of 10+ boats.

Jim, We are 2 year old members, with 12 to go!! We also live in the Cinciy area. Where abouts are you? We have been trying to get a hold of as many members of the club as possible. When we are down on the boats we try to meet the other members and get addresses or e-mails. I was given your site from dreaminawake. We met each other on the "houseboat instruction day" and then had the same weekend with them our first time out. I have left notes in a lot of boats asking people to get in contact with me concerning "our houseboats." I have heard from one or 2 people. I will be looking up their addresses and letting them know about this site. It is great. I have asked Bert and Paula how many members there are? can I get a list of them? I just get the run around, they say it is a privacy issue. But you may be our neighbor and I don't even know!!

Hello Lazydays and welcome. I live in Finneytown. What part of Cincy are you from? This will be my 3rd summer in the program but we only opted for 5. I'm not sure if that was a good idea or bad. 14 years is a long time and situations change. I'll be retired by then and hope to have my own houseboat. Then I can come and go as I please. Thanks for promoting this site. I think I had a email address for you a long time ago but I think it was wrong. I am going to try and make up some cards and drop them off at the boats in the early summer. We spend a lot of time at the lake so I should be able to get some passed out. I guess in a way I can understand the privacy issue thing, but the could ask each member if they want their info shared with other members. Berta told me that there are no openings in the multiple owner program and at one point I read something about having 22-26 members per boat.
